The Mighty B! is a current Nickelodeon show created by Erik Wiese (previously a storyboard artist and writer on SpongeBob SquarePants), Cynthia True (previously a writer on The Fairly OddParents) and Amy Poehler (of Saturday Night Live fame). Amy Poehler also provides the voice of the title character, Bessie Higgenbottom. The first episode premiered on April 26, 2008. The pilot episode will also be shown on Nicktoons Network.

Plot

Bessie Higgenbottom is determined to be the best Honeybee scout ever, by collecting every single Honeybee badge. Bessie thinks that when she gets every badge, she will turn into the Mighty B. A big strong superhero. Now she will take Happy, her pet dog, and Benjamin, her little brother, on her quest to become the Mighty B. Bessie's mother, Hilary Higgenbottom runs a coffe shop called Hilary's Cafe. She is always suportive of Bessie, but is not sure about the Mighty B thing. Bessie's troop leader is Mary Francis Gibbons. Her daugter, Portia Gibbons, is also in the troop and doesn't like Bessie that much. Other characters are in the show to. Such as Rocky Rohdes, a cool skater kid. And Penny, a friend of Bessie.

Main

• Bessie Higgenbottom - The title character of the series, Bessie is a Honeybee scout, similar to a Girl Scout. She is 9-3/4 years old and has more badges than any other Honeybee scout. Bessie wears her uniform every day. Every year when the Bees are selling taffy, Bessie beats her own sales record. She has a can-do attitude taken to the extreme, a big heart, and an even bigger personality. She hopes to someday become a superhero called the Mighty B when she grows up. She believes she will become The Mighty B if she gets all of the badges. She is very organized, but is a bit bossy. She lives in San Francisco. Her voice sounds very much like Poehler's UCB character, Girl Scout Cassie. She is very chatty. Her favorite food is popcorn as heard in "Artificial Unintelligence".

• Happy Walter Higgenbottom - At first, a nameless dog with a half-torn ear enjoying existence at the Wharf, that is, until Bessie Higgenbottom found him and took him home. Happy could run away from the Higgenbottoms, but he begrudgingly grew to love his new family (except for Ben). Happy and Ben might fight over Bessie's affection, but Bessie loves Happy very much.

• Benjamin Higgenbottom - Bessie's younger brother. Ben is a 6 year old scaredy cat. He tries to keep up a good front, which is essential since Ben hopes to be Bessie's sidekick when his sister becomes the Mighty B.

• Hilary Higgenbottom - She owns and operates a coffee shop called Hilary's Cafe in San Francisco. She is the mother of Bessie and Benjamin Higgenbottom. She is not very neat and looks and feels kind of frazzled. She tries to support Bessie's ambitions, but she is not so sure how she feels about Bessie's ambitions of the Mighty B. She is as just bowled over by Bessie as everyone else is, and usually goes along with her precisely calculated plans out of sheer exhaustion.

• Gwen - She is very tuned into hip-hop and urban culture, music and fashion. With a head in business, she has a ten-year plan that includes taking over the music and fashion worlds... as soon as she can get out of her baby-sitting duties for her five younger brothers. Gwen is also Portia's lieutenant. Whatever Portia says, Gwen will escalate, throwing in "Yeah Yeah!", "Ya heard?!", or "Wha wha!" She has a lot of attitude, energy, and has alot of intellegence. She may seem a mean but actually is very kind.

• Penny - She is one of Bessie's friends and Portia's loyal lady-in-waiting. She loves taffy and hates math. She is also a mouth-breather, but ever so occasionally, out of nowhere, she'll say something wise beyond her years. She has a big heart and loves to help her friends. Though sometimes, she ends up torn between her roles as Bessie's friend and Portia's loyal lady-in-waiting. In "Bee Afraid" she was shown to be possesed in some way when telling a story.

• Portia Gibbons - She is like most pretty rich girls,but isn't that pretty or rich. She lives in a regular house, but expects to be treated like a celebrity. Portia always has Penny, her loyal lady-in-waiting and Gwen as her lieutenant by her side. She is used to getting her way, and does not accept being told "no". Portia has a crush on Rocky, as seen in "We Got the Bee". She likes make-up, celebrities, anything spa-related, and is obsessed with gelato. She has been to Alcatraz before. She is also very lazy. Portia expects things to be done for her, because she has better things to do, like moisturizing. Portia is a snob who does anything to humiliate Bessie. Her nickname for Bessie is "Messie". Her quote is "Try not to be so jelous of me." Portia is a fan of Pretty Pretty Princesses.

• Finger - An imaginary friend of Bessie's which is her left-hand index finger with a face drawn onto it. He is Bessie's closest friend and confidant. Whenever Bessie needs some worldly advice, she seeks Finger's perspective of the matter. First thing every morning, she draws a smiley face on Finger, and every night before bed, she washes off Finger's "awake" face to put on his "asleep" face. Finger may seem like a figment of Bessie's imagination, but sometimes, it seems like he has a mind of his own.

• Rocky Rhodes - He is an older skateboarder who works part-time as a waiter at Hilary's Café. Rocky is a budding teen heartthrob: He's nice, he's cool, and he's in a rock band. Rocky plays guitar for the Integritones, a teen garage band that can totally make it, if they only could find a drummer that who would stick around for more than a week.

Minor

• Mary Francis Gibbons - She is the Honeybee troop leader and Portia's mom, who, apparently, enjoys humiliating Bessie as much as Portia does. An advanced social climber, she is banking everything on her mall-pretty daughter. She became a Troop Leader because she plans one day to run for PTA President and she wanted to show how good she was with children. She forced Portia to join the Honeybees and considers the troop a mother-daughter bonding activity. Mary also is a certified Patty Fay Cosmetics representative and jumps at any time to push Patty Fay. It's not just the money, but also the chance to tell everyone how to look better. She does seem to care about her troop in some episodes.

• Anton - First introduced as the Dog Show Judge. He is Mary Gibbons's best friend. They adore each other. He's the most judgmental person in the world and as such is usually looked to as an authority, whether he is a Dog Show Judge or head of City Council. Whenever Mary Gibbons needs someone "impartial", she calls for Anton, usually to bring Bessie down.

• Mr. Wu - He is the owner of the Mr. Wu's Restaurant, a neighborhood favorite. He is loved by the Higgenbottom family, especially Bessie. He very sweetly humors Bessie in all of her crazy schemes and Mighty B imagining, often getting pulled in for moral support. Also,sometimes he can see into Bessie's mind

• The Hippie - He can often be seen around the neighborhood in his own little world. When he's not painting murals or enjoying nature, he runs a magic shop. The Hippie doesn't have much of a head for business, but he can usually be counted on to take Bessie seriously when no other grown-up will. He's often on the same wavelength as Penny.

History

Early Struggles (2008)

The Mighty B! was first seen on a bonus disc that came with the Atlantis SquarePantis DVD on November 13, 2007 before the show premired. A sneak peak for the show premiered on November 25, 2007 along with Making Fiends and Penguins!. The show aired its first episodes "So Happy Together / Sweet Sixteenth" on April 26, 2008 as a part of a special event called The Mightiest Weekend. With the first episode airing on April 26, 2008 and the second episode on April 27, 2008. And then five bonus chances to see the episodes. At this time, Avatar: The Last Airbender was the most poupuler show on Nickelodeon. With a 9.8 out of 10.0 on TV.com. The Mighty B! only having a 5.1 out of 10.0 with the premire. 20 episodes are planned for Season 1. The current score for the show is 6.4 out of 10.0 making it the second lowest score on Nickelodeon. The lowest being Tak and the Power of Juju

4	May 10, 2008	Lil Orphan Happy	It's Mother's day and Bessie learns that Happy doesn't know where his mom his. Bessie goes around town looking for her. Once she is found, she starts to teach Happy to break Bessie's rules. Absent:Penny, Portia Gibbons, Gwen, and Rocky.
		Body Rockers	Bessie and Penny get lost at a science exhibit and think they have been shrunk and teleported into a human body. Absent:Hilary Higgenbottom, Happy Higgenbottom, Ben Higgenbottom, and Rocky.
5	May 17, 2008	Bat Mitzvah Crashers	Bessie and Penny start crashing Bat Mitzvah parties and set their sights on the ultimate party being held by Portia's cousin. Absent:Gwen and Rocky.
		Super Secret Weakness	Bessie discovers the Mighty Bee's secret weakness is zucchini, and tries to rid her hometown of the foul vegetable. But how will Portia act to this? Absent:Rocky.
6	May 31, 2008	And I See a Bee	Bessie is told she can see the future, but her sunny predictions for Penny's birthday party are way off the mark, so she attempts to make things right.
		Woodward and Beesting	Bessie tries to learn Portia's secret by becoming a reporter for the Hive Herald.
