Set in the fictional, crime-ridden Mexican metropolis of Miracle City, the series follows the adventures of Manny Rivera, a 13-year-old super-powered boy who tries to choose between "good" and "bad". His father, a superhero known as the White Pantera, wants to raise him “good” so he can fight “evil”, but Manny's grandfather, a super villain known as Puma Loco, thinks he should come to the dark side.

His full name is Manuel Pablo Gutierrez O'Brian Equahia Rivera. He is a 13-year-old boy who, except for a scar over his left eye, is no different from any other boy his age. But appearances are deceptive, because Manny is the son of the legendary hero White Pantera and grandson of the evil super villain Puma Loco and he is El Tigre himself. Manny is kind, but he still doesn't know if he's a hero or a villain. He wants to be good, like his father, but sometimes can't resist being bad, like his grandfather Rivera. When Manny turns his mystical belt buckle, he turns into the mighty superhero El Tigre. His superhero name translated from Spanish into German means "the tiger" and refers to his tiger-like costume and claws. His superpowers are retractable claws with which he can cut and shoot through everything, he can jump far and in the episode "Escape from the Crypt" he gained the power to summon a tiger spirit and created a large, green tiger-shaped energy field that mimics its movements.

Frida Suarez

She is a 13-year-old Spanish girl and the youngest of three daughters of Police Chief Emiliano Suárez and Judge Carmela Suárez. Frida is Manny's best friend and the two of them hang out together most of the time. She doesn't always have a good influence on Manny because the two of them often do mischief together. She's not super powered, but is always there when Manny is fighting crime. Her father is very worried about her because he thinks it is dangerous for her when Manny is turned into El Tigre. Her two twin sisters Nikita and Anita are very different from her. She wears her clothes in gothic / punk style and she has completely blue hair and never goes out without her red glasses. She is also in a band called "The Atomic Sombreros".

Rodolfo Rivera / White Pantera

He is Manny's father and the son of Puma Loco. He is a superhero and calls himself White Pantera, but some of him are already retired. It is his wish that his son finally decides in favor of the "good" and combats the "evil". His powers are his bronze boots of truth, which give him superhuman speed and strength. Plus, the boots make anyone who touches them telling the truth.

Grandpapi / Puma Loco

He is the grandfather of Manny and the father of Rodolfo. He is a super villain and his name "Puma Loco" means "Crazy Puma". Unlike his son, he wants Manny to overflow to the dark side. He cares about his family, even about his villain plans. His source of power is his golden sombrero of chaos, which can transform into a robot suit and has various gadgets and weapons such as claws and a giant drill.
