Kappa Mikey is an American animated series . It was developed by Larry Schwarz for Nickelodeon .

action

The series is about the unemployed Michael "Mikey" Alexander Simon, who lives in Cleveland , Ohio . With a scratch card he wins the leading role in LilyMu, once the most successful television series in Japan . The LilyMu co-stars initially found Mikey unsuitable for the series, but audiences still hit Mikey and becomes Japan's most successful television star.

main characters

Michael "Mikey" Alexander Simon

With a scratch card, 19-year-old would-be actor Mikey, who has just finished high school, becomes the new star of LilyMu. He is very gullible, cheerful and impulsive. Due to his chaotic nature, he always succeeds in getting himself and his fellow actors into trouble - he in particular regularly makes Lily angry. Still, in some episodes it always seems like Mikey is in love with Lily. For Mitsuki, however, Mikey's missteps are usually just lovable.

Lily

She is a real angel in front of the camera, but as soon as the film is finished, she becomes a fury. Lily is very temperamental. She can't stand the fact that Mikey is no longer the center of attention - so she takes every opportunity to excel and boss others around (especially Mikey, of course).

Gonard

Gonard is the complete opposite of what he embodies in the series LilyMu. If he plays a criminal and intelligent beast in the series, he is a big, lovable fool in real life. He quickly becomes friends with Mikey and helps him find his way around Tokyo . Gonard sometimes has a tendency to be more of a brake than a help through his idiocy. He also has an extreme appetite, especially sandwiches and cookies.

Mitsuki

In LilyMu Mitsuki embodies a really tough bad girl, but in truth she is a very lovable, generous and harmonious person who needs harmony. She is in love with Mikey and does everything to make him feel comfortable in Japan - but her advances are rarely crowned with success. Mikey often can't even remember her name and overlooks her affection. She is also the calm in the team and always tries to eliminate arguments and disagreements among the actors.

guano

Guano is an actor as well as the screenwriter and director in the series LilyMu. In the series there is a small animal (a critter) that is similar to Pokémon only “ Guano, Guano! “Says that outside of the series he's very intelligent and educated. He can be very neurotic and frustrated, which can sometimes trigger real seizures. He always wears his costume that he would never take off, but he had to do it once. However, he did so behind a curtain and he quickly put on a new, identical costume without any of his colleagues ever seeing his appearance. Behind this curtain, however, one briefly saw the shadow of a muscular man who was just as big as guano, then a tall man and then a woman. In addition, Guano is Ozu's missing son. Behind his crystal he keeps a teddy bear that Ozu gave him when he made his way to Japan to become famous.

Ozu

Ozu has worked for Japanese television for six decades. He left his family one day to make history in Japan, but had to leave his wife and son to do so. He promised to come back for Christmas, but his family was no longer in his house. In the same episode one learns that guano is his son. He is the producer of LilyMu and is known for his outbursts of anger. However, he turns a blind eye to Mikey again and again, realizing that his fame is what keeps the series going. Ozu sometimes bullies the actors by giving them tasks that he considers important for publicity and the like.

Yes man

Yes you are apparently some kind of secretary or advisor to Ozu. He stands out for his short, hectic appearances, where he usually only makes a short sentence or comment and then immediately disappears. Basically, Yes Man is of the same opinion as Ozu. Plus, Yes Man is the person who takes the most physical harm, whether mistaken for a piñata and beaten with sticks or fired from a cannon.

Production and publication

Kappa Mikey is produced in the United States by Animation Collective . The sound recordings will be made at NYAV Post . The series is animated with Adobe Flash . In some scenes, however, you work with CGI , which is rendered with the Maya program . This takes place in 3 studios in New York City . The theme song of Kappa Mikey comes from the Japanese band Beat Crusaders . The song runs in its full length for 2:31 minutes.

On February 25, 2006, Kappa Mikey was first released worldwide. From August 20, 2006 it was broadcast on the Nicktoons Network. In Germany, the series started on September 12, 2006. The pay-TV channel Nicktoons has been broadcasting them since September 4, 2010.
