(100033) Taizé is an asteroid of the main belt . It was discovered by the German astronomer Freimut Börngen on April 9, 1990 at the Thuringian State Observatory Tautenburg ( IAU code 033) in Thuringia .
The asteroid was named on August 9, 2006 after the Communauté de Taizé in the Saône-et-Loire department . The Communauté de Taizé is an international ecumenical male order about ten kilometers north of Cluny , which tens of thousands of young people visit every year. The founder of the Taizé Community is Brother Roger .
