(1044) Teutonia is an asteroid of the main belt that was discovered on May 10, 1924 by the German astronomer Karl Wilhelm Reinmuth at the Heidelberg-Königstuhl State Observatory at the University of Heidelberg .
The asteroid was named after the Teuton people at the suggestion of Gustav Stracke .
