(1093) Freda is an asteroid of the main belt that was discovered on June 15, 1925 by the Russian astronomer Beniamin Pavlovich Schechowski in Algiers .
The name is derived from Fred Prévost , a mining engineer and promoter of the natural science faculty in Bordeaux.
