(1120) Cannonia is an asteroid of the main belt that was discovered on September 11, 1928 by the Russian astronomer Pelageja Fyodorovna Schain at the Crimean Observatory in Simejis .

The asteroid was named after the American astronomer Annie Jump Cannon .
