(13027) Geeraerts is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 3 April 1989 by the Belgian astronomer Eric Walter Elst at the La Silla Observatory ( IAU code 809) of the European Southern Observatory in Chile was discovered.
The asteroid was named on March 6, 2004 after the Belgian author Jef Geeraerts (* 1930), who is widely recognized for his socially critical crime novels .
