(1312) Vassar is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 27. July 1933 by the Belgian astronomer George Van Biesbroeck at Yerkes Observatory in Williams Bay , Wisconsin was discovered.
The asteroid is named after Vassar College , where the orbit calculator (Maud Worcester Makemson) taught.
