(1838) Ursa is an asteroid of the main belt that was discovered on October 20, 1971 by the Swiss astronomer Paul Wild from the Zimmerwald Observatory at the University of Bern .
The asteroid is named after the wife of the explorer Ursula and after his son Urs.
