(1944) Günter is an asteroid of the main belt that was discovered on September 14, 1925 by the German astronomer Karl Wilhelm Reinmuth at the Heidelberg-Königstuhl State Observatory at the University of Heidelberg .

The asteroid is dedicated to the explorer's son, Günter Reinmuth .
