(1961) Dufour is an asteroid of the main belt , which by the Swiss astronomer on 19 November 1973 Paul Wild , from zimmerwald observatory of the University of Bern was made, discovered.

The asteroid is named after the Swiss humanist, general, politician, cartographer and engineer Guillaume-Henri Dufour .
