Zlatko Škorić (born July 27, 1941 in Zagreb ; † May 23, 2019 there ) was a Yugoslavian football goalkeeper and coach .
Career as a player
societies
Škorić began his professional career at the age of 19 at Dinamo Zagreb , the football club based in his birthplace. With the club he was runner-up four times in nine seasons and won the Yugoslav Cup competition and the Messestädte Cup in 1967 three times . After brief stays in France at Olympique Avignonnais and in Slovenia at NK Olimpija Ljubljana , he moved to the Bundesliga in 1971 for VfB Stuttgart , for which he played in 24 league and three DFB Cup games.
A year later he moved to FC Bayern Munich as an additional substitute goalkeeper alongside Manfred Seifert behind the legendary Sepp Maier . For Bayern he only played four games. In the DFB League Cup , the preliminary round on August 16, 1972 (1: 4 against FC Bayern Hof ; 3rd matchday in Hof), August 19 (2: 2 against VfB Stuttgart; 4th matchday in Ulm) and 6th September (4: 5 again FC Bayern Hof; 6th matchday in Bamberg) lost all three games. On October 26, 1972, he won his fourth and last competitive game with Bayern in the second leg of the second round of the European Cup in a 4-0 win against Omonia Nicosia . In 1973 he left Bavaria, like his substitute goalkeeper colleague Seifert, who remained completely unattended in 1972/73. Hugo Robl and Walter Modick now took their position. Škorić returned to France for two more years, where he acted as a regular goalkeeper at Olympique Avignon . After another season as a regular goalkeeper at NK Zagreb , he ended his career in 1976.
National team
Škorić played eight times in the senior national team of his country; first on April 1, 1964 in Niš in a 1-0 victory over Bulgaria , the last time on May 8, 1966 in Zagreb in a 2-0 victory over Hungary . In the eight international appearances he was substituted on once for Milutin Šoškić and once for Ilija Pantelić. He also took part in a “benefit” game (for the victims of the earthquake in Skopje ), which was rated as an official international match (for the Yugoslav Association) , which won in Belgrade with 2: 7 against the “ Europe selection ” supervised by Helmut Schön (among others Uwe Seeler , Karl-Heinz Schnellinger , Lew Jaschin , Josef Masopust and Eusébio ) was lost. He was also a member of the squad of the selection team that took part in the Olympic football tournament in Tokyo from October 11 to 23, 1964 . In the five games - including the consolation round - he was not used.
Career as a coach
After his career as a player, he hit the coaching career that began at BSK Slavonski Brod . Later he was in charge of the Angolan national team ; This was followed by engagements at NK Samobor , at Dinamo Zagreb as an assistant coach and finally at HNK Segesta Sisak .
