(2043) Ortutay is an asteroid of the main belt , the on 12. November 1936 by the Hungarian astronomers György Kulin at Konkoly Observatory in Budapest was discovered.

The name of the asteroid is reminiscent of the Hungarian astronomer and ethnology professor Gyula Ortutay .
