(2125) Karl-Ontjes is an asteroid of the main belt that was discovered on September 24, 1960 by the Dutch research team Cornelis Johannes van Houten , Ingrid van Houten-Groeneveld and Tom Gehrels as part of the Palomar-Leiden survey .
The name of the asteroid is reminiscent of the Frankfurt nuclear physicist Karl-Ontjes Groeneveld , who is a brother of Ingrid van Houten-Groeneveld.
