(24751) Kroemer is an asteroid of the main belt , which was discovered on September 21, 1992 by the German astronomer Freimut Börngen at the Thuringian State Observatory Tautenburg ( IAU code 033) in Thuringia .

The asteroid is named after the German physicist Herbert Kroemer (* 1928), who was awarded the Nobel Prize for Physics in 2000 together with Shores Iwanowitsch Alfjorow for his research .
