(4118) Sveta is a main belt asteroid discovered on October 14, 1982 by the astronomer Lyudmyla Shuravlowa from the Crimean Observatory .
The asteroid was named after the former Soviet cosmonaut Svetlana Evgenevna Savitskaya (* 1948), the second woman in space .
