(4280) Simonenko is a main belt asteroid that was discovered on August 13, 1985 by Nikolai Stepanowitsch Tschernych from the Crimean Observatory .
The asteroid was named after the Russian astronomer Alla Nikolaevna Simonenko (1935–1984).
