(6622) Matvienko is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 5 September 1978 by the Russian astronomer N. S. Chernykh at the Crimean Astrophysical Observatory in Nautschnyj , Ukrainian SSR ( IAU code was discovered 095).
The asteroid was named after the Ukrainian economist Volodymyr Matviyenko .
