(855) Newcombia is an asteroid of the main belt , which on April 3, 1916 by the Russian astronomer Sergei Ivanovich Beljavski the Crimean Astrophysical Observatory in simeiz was discovered.

The asteroid is named after the American astronomer Simon Newcomb .
