In 1930 he achieved the best placement in the club's history with CA Talleres with 5th place. In 1931 Talleres was one of the founding members of the first professional league in Argentina, but was mostly to be found in the lower reaches of the table.

In 1933 Bossio joined the top club River Plate and stayed there for three seasons. In 1937 he moved back to CA Talleres, where he ended his active career the following year.

In 1927 Bossio was in goal for the Argentine national soccer team for the first time , with whom he experienced a successful period in the following years. In 1927 in Peru and in 1929 at home in Argentina, he won the Copa America with La Albiceleste .

He won the silver medal at the 1928 Olympic football tournament in Amsterdam , which at that time was equivalent to a football world championship. After Argentina initially drew 1-1 in the final against Uruguay's leading national team at the time, they lost 2-1 in the replay at the Olympic Stadium in Amsterdam . His best-known teammates were Ludovico Bidoglio , Fernando Paternóster , Raimundo Orsi and Domingo Tarascone , the tournament's top scorer with 11 goals. In the Uruguayan team, José Andrade , Pedro Cea and Héctor Scarone , considered by many to be the best player in the world at the time, were among the outstanding players.

When a soccer World Cup was held in Uruguay for the first time in 1930 , he was in goal for Argentina in the group games. In the further course of the tournament, however, Juan Botasso of Argentino Quilmes was given preference. Argentina also made it into the final against Uruguay at this tournament, but this time they lost 4-2 to the hosts at the Estadio Centenario . Bossio's teammate Guillermo Stábile was the top scorer with eight goals at this World Cup.

In 1935 he played his 21st and last international match for Argentina.
