Books on neo-paganism appeared under von Nahodyl's pseudonym Géza von Neményi . In 1991, von Nahodyl founded the Germanic Faith Community , whose leader and religious head he is under the self-designation Allsherjagode .

As an AfD local politician, he has been the city councilor of Bad Belzig since 2019 .

Life

Nahodyl, who grew up in Berlin , has dealt with esotericism and magic since his youth . Von Nahodyl graduated from the University of the Arts in Berlin with a degree in visual communication .

Von Nahodyl calls himself a baron with reference to his noble roots , his ancestors come from Moravia . He is married and has lived in Bad Belzig in Brandenburg since 1999 .

Neo-paganism

According to his own account, the Catholic educated von Nahodyl came to the Germanic neo-paganism in 1982 by studying the books of the rune-neoteric Karl Spiesberger and the mythologist Johann Wilhelm Ernst Wägner .

Marks of the Germanic Faith Community with sun cross and Thor's hammer

In 1985, von Nahodyl founded the Heidnische Gemeinschaft eV association. After leaving, the Germanic Faith Community eV (GGG) was founded in 1991 , which was the successor to the Germanic Faith Community founded by the poet and painter Ludwig Fahrenkrog and existed until 1964 sees.

In June 2003, von Nahodyl, as head of the GGG, published a declaration on the “task and purpose of the institution Allsherjargode ” and raised a claim to leadership within “traditional Germanic paganism in Germany”. This "met with bitter resistance within the neo-Pagan scene and resulted in fierce controversies, which ... were mainly carried out on the Internet", according to the Evangelical Central Office for Weltanschauung questions .

Publications

Nahodyl Neményi represents the Slavic legend in his publications and contributions on the Internet . He assumes that the Slavs are not an ethnic group of their own, but rather East Germanic peoples , whose gods he therefore also regards as Germanic. The traditional names are not authentic, but substitute names used by Christians, since there was fear of naming the correct names of the deities seen as demons.

From a scientific point of view - for example in German Medieval Studies , Nordic Studies or Slavonic Studies - Nahodyl's publications are of no importance.

Political activities

According to his own admission, von Nahodyl has been active in regional politics since his student days.

In the mid-1980s, von Nahodyl, as a board member of the Berlin State Association of the Alternative List for Democracy and Environmental Protection , the Berlin Association of the Greens , applied for a party expulsion procedure following allegations of right-wing extremism against various party members . Von Nahodyl denied any association in this regard. After a time with the SPD , von Nahodyl has been active with the AfD since 2013 . He ran for this in 2014 both in the district election of Potsdam-Mittelmark and for the city council in Bad Belzig . According to his own statement, however, he is not a friend of the "usual brawls in politics" and has therefore now ended his activities in this area. In 2019 he ran again for the AfD in the election for the city council of Bad Belzig and was elected with the strongest individual result (987 votes).
