The Ätztussis were a four-piece women's anarcho-punk band that were active in the vicinity of the KZ 36 club in West Berlin in the late 1970s and early 1980s .
meaning
The Ätztussis belonged to the second generation of Berlin punk bands. While the first generation (e.g. PVC ) sang mainly in English and leaned heavily on the English role models, the second generation, which was mainly recruited from the anarcho and squatter scene in Kreuzberg , sang in German and developed its own, very rough style of music.
The Ätztussis never signed a record deal with a major record company. Her best-known recordings are the songs released in 1980 on the LP KZ 36 Live . The band performed live at the 1979 anti-fascist festival in Berlin. There the band played on a truck in front of the prison for women in Berlin . The song Schlag zurück was later added to the compilation for the festival. In 1980 the band also appeared in Christoph Dreher's documentary Okay Okay - modern dance .
