Åshild Hauan

Åshild Hauan (born April 20, 1941 in Velfjord , Nordland , † December 1, 2017 in Bodø ) was a Norwegian politician of the Arbeiderpartiet (Ap). She was from 1991 to 2007 Fylkesmann von Nordland and from 1981 to 1993 a member of the Storting for Nordland.

life and career

Hauan was born in Velfjord in southern Nordland in 1941 as the daughter of sawmill owner Paul Drevland (1914–1978) and housewife Gunnvor Wester (1919–1979). She married Åsbjørn Hauan and had two children and later three grandchildren.

Hauan held several offices on the Rana parish council between 1975 and 1983 and was a member of the Fylkesting of Nordland from 1979 to 1983 . For the period 1977-1981 she was Vararepresentantin in Storting , before she was elected in the 1981 parliamentary election to the MP from Nordland. She was re-elected in the 1985 and 1989 elections and was a member of the Storting until 1993. In addition, she was chairwoman of the Odelsting from 1985 to 1989 .

During her third term in office in Storting, she was appointed Fylkesmann von Nordland in 1991. Since she was already in the Storting at that time, Idin Pareli Johansen was appointed acting Fylkesmann and held this position until Hauan completed her term of office in Storting in 1993 and served as Fylkesmann in Bodø until 2007 .

Hauan died of cancer on December 1, 2017 at the age of 76 in the city of Bodø in Nordland.
