Éder Carbonera (born October 19, 1983 in Farroupilha ) is a Brazilian national volleyball player . With the national team he became Olympic champion in 2016 and vice world champion in 2014 and 2018. He won several national championships with various Brazilian clubs as well as the 2013 and 2015 Club World Championships with Sada Cruzeiro Vôlei . In the 2020/21 season he will play volleys for the German Bundesliga club Berlin Recycling .

Career

Carbonera started his career in 1998 at the Universidade de Caxias do Sul . He was successful with the Brazilian juniors. He was U17 world champion in 2001 and won the U20 Pan-American championship in 2002. From 2001 to 2004 he played at EC Banespa in São Paulo . In 2003 he was third in the U20 World Cup. In the 2004/05 season he was again active with the university team. He then moved to Cimed Florianópolis . With the club he was Brazilian champion four times in 2006 and from 2008 to 2010. During this time he celebrated further successes with the senior national team . In 2007 he won the World League with Brazil . In 2009 the next title was won in the world league and Carbonera was South American champion with Brazil . In 2011 he won the Pan American Games and came second in the World League . In the 2012/13 season, Carbonera played at SESI São Paulo before moving to Sada Cruzeiro Vôlei . With Sada Cruzeiro he became club world champion in 2013 and 2015 . With the national team there was another second place in the world league in 2013 , again after a loss to Russia , and the next victory in the South American championship. In 2014, Carbonera and Brazil had to admit defeat both in the world league against the USA and in the final of the World Cup against Poland .

The Brazilians lost another final in the 2016 World League . But then they won the gold medal at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro with a win against Italy . In the 2016/17 season, Carbonera won the Brazilian Cup with Funvic Taubaté . With the national team there was the next silver medal in the world league in 2017 . In 2017/18 Carbonera played volleyball for the Italian first division club Trentino . In 2018 he was again runner- up with Brazil at the World Cup in Italy and Bulgaria . Then he moved back to SESI São Paulo. 2020 Carbonera was the German Bundesliga Berlin Recycling Volleys committed
