Étraire de la Dui

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Étraire de la Dui is a red wine variety . It is grown in the French wine-growing region of Savoie . She is admitted to the Isère department . In the Vin de Savoie appellation, it is one of the permitted secondary varieties. It was first found near the Mas de l'Aduï near Saint-Ismier . The term Étraire refers to the elongated shape of the berries. It is believed that this variety is an openly withered seedling of the Persan grape variety , as at least the berry shape is strikingly similar.

Étraire de la Dui was an important grape variety before and during the phylloxera crisis in the 19th century, but could hardly follow on from earlier successes later. The area under vines fell from almost 400 hectares in 1958 to just 4 hectares in 1988.

Ampelographic varietal characteristics

In ampelography , the habitus is described as follows:

  • The shoot tip is open. She is hairy white wool. The yellow-green, bronze-colored spotted young leaves are lightly hairy.
  • The dark green, thick leaves are five-lobed and slightly curved. The stem bay is narrow and almost closed. The blade is bluntly serrated. The teeth are set closely in comparison to the grape varieties. The leaf surface (also called blade) is coarse with fine bubbles in the area of the stalk bay. In autumn the foliage turns red to some extent.
  • The cylindrical grape is small and dense. The distinctly elongated berries are medium-sized and purple-black in color.

The grape variety ripens around 20 days after the Gutedel and is therefore still early in international comparison. Since Étraire de la Dui sprouts early, the shoot tips are very vulnerable to late frost. Compared to the genuine and downy mildew is moderately resistant. It has hermaphroditic flowers and is therefore self-fruiting. In viticulture , the economic disadvantage of not having to grow male plants that produce yield is avoided.
