Óscar Adrián Rojas (born August 2, 1981 in Mexico City ), also known by the nickname Kevin , is a Mexican football player in the position of defender .
Life
society
Rojas began his professional career in the 2000/01 season with the Gallos Blancos de Querétaro in the Mexican second division , where he made 29 appearances and two goals. For the 2001/02 season Rojas moved to Club America , where he made his debut in the Mexican Primera División on October 31, 2001 in a home game against Atlético Celaya , which was lost 2-1.
Because he was hardly used at America - but was part of the squad of the championship team that won the Torneo Verano in 2002 - he moved to newly promoted San Luis FC , for whom he made a total of 68 league appearances in the 2002/03 and 2003/04 seasons completed and thus made the breakthrough. Already on the first day of the 2002/03 season he scored his first goal in the Mexican Primera División on August 4, 2002, when he - at his former club Gallos Blancos of all places - managed to take the 1-0 lead in the 85th minute, which however only lasted until shortly before the end of the game, when Armando González was able to equalize to 1-1.
After San Luis had to return to the second division at the end of the 2003/04 season , Rojas returned to Club America, where he was able to keep his position as a regular and even made it to the national team.
His most successful time with the Águilas were the years 2005 to 2007, in which he won another championship title ( Clausura 2005 ), a Supercup (2005) and a CONCACAF Champions' Cup ( 2006 ) and reached the final of the Copa Sudamericana ( 2007 ) .
National team
Rojas made his debut in the national team on September 7, 2005 with a 90-minute mission when Panama was defeated 5-0 in a World Cup qualifying match . In the win against Trinidad and Tobago on June 10, 2009, also as part of a World Cup qualifier , he scored his (so far) only international goal to make it 2-1. It was a sharp long-range shot from around 30 meters that hit the corner of the goal. Although he played a few qualifying matches for both the 2006 and 2010 World Cups, he was not named to the squad of the Mexican World Cup selection in either case.
