Olof Örjan Sandler (born September 28, 1940 in Sunne , Jämtland ) is a former Swedish speed skater .

Sandler was active in speed skating for nearly two decades. He contested his first international competitions in 1964. He qualified for the Olympic Winter Games in Innsbruck . Over the distances of 1500 meters, 5000 meters and 10,000 meters, he finished 18, 19 and 17. Four years later he surprisingly won bronze over 10,000 meters at the 1968 Winter Olympics in Grenoble , France . Over 1500 meters and 5000 meters he reached the ranks 10 and 6. He finished the all- around world championship in 1969 on rank 7, which was his best World Cup result. Sandler was able to qualify over 5000 meters and 10,000 meters for the 1972 Winter Olympics in Sapporo , where he finished 14th and 15th. He regularly finished in the top 16 of the European Championships , but was never better than seventh in 1975 . At his fourth Winter Olympics in Innsbruck in 1976 , Sandler again competed over 5000 meters and 10,000 meters. Both times he was able to place himself in the top ten by reaching ranks 8 and 5. After his last Olympic Winter Games in 1980 , where he finished 14th over 10,000 meters, Sandler ended his active career.

Sandler was out as an orienteer and active in triathlon .

He studied at the Gymnastik- och idrottshögskolan in Stockholm and worked as a physical education teacher in Strömsund .
