Austrian nature conservation award

The Austrian Nature Conservation Prize is an award given by the Austrian Nature Conservation Association since 1975 for people who have made public contributions to nature and environmental protection in Austria .

This honors in particular people who are involved in the presentation of environmental science topics

  • have a high factual level
  • deal with socio-political issues
  • Show moral courage

The award consists of a copper medal reminiscent of an antique coin relief. It shows an Athenian owl , which is a symbol of vigilant wisdom and science.
