The Öxnadalsá is a tributary of the Hörgá in northern Iceland .

It rises on the Öxnadalsheiði and flows a good 25 kilometers in a north-easterly direction through the Öxnadalur . The course of the river lies from the source to the mouth, sometimes left and right, next to the ring road west of the city of Akureyri .
