Transition is a German-speaking metal band that belongs to the genres Groove Metal and Thrash Metal .
history
The band was founded in 2014 in Göttingen . Founding members were Sebastian Walkenhorst, Jeff Insanity, Mikey Lawless and Dukk Maniac. Silvio Schlesier joined the band as a bass player in 2015. The first release was in 2017 the debut album Signs of the Times on the Demons Run Amok Entertainment label . Concerts and tours with bands like Napalm Death , Agnostic Front , Brujeria , Iron Reagan , Ignite , Power Trip , Dirty Rotten Imbeciles and Isolated followed. Shortly after the tour , all members left the band except for Schlesier and Walkenhorst and were replaced by Andor Arnhold, Sven Vaupel and Louis Schaffert. On May 31, 2019, the band released their second album Evolution on Demons Run Amok Entertainment.
Style and direction
Characteristic for the band are the German singing and the rather philosophical lyrics of singer Walkenhorst. The production of the album Evolution was developed and implemented by Arnhold. Dennis Poschwatta, drummer of the band Guano Apes , was responsible for the mastering of the sound carrier . As with Signs of the Times , there are more personal and socially critical texts on Evolution . Songs like “Kampfgeist” deal with the lethargy of society. The band has an anti-fascist , anti-racist , anti- sexist and anti-homophobic orientation. Among other things, the song Blutgetränkt is about the shift to the right in Europe.
