The steam locomotives TKPE 1–4, 16, 17 formed an express train locomotive series of the Turnau-Kralup-Prager Eisenbahn (TKPE).

The first four of this series were supplied by the Wiener Neustädter Lokomotivfabrik in 1865, and two more followed in 1874 by the Mödlinger Lokomotivfabrik .

Sigl built six identical machines in Vienna 1867–1868 for the Bohemian Northern Railway (BNB), which gave them the numbers 1–6.

In 1883 the BNB took over the TKPE and with it the six identical vehicles as the BNB I series with the numbers 1–6, while its own six locomotives were given the series designation II and the numbers 7–12. When the BNB was nationalized in 1908, the kk Austrian State Railways (kkStB) took over one of the TKPE machines as 123.06 and five of the BNB locomotives as 123.01-05.

After the First World War , two copies came to the Czech State Railways (ČSD). The 123.05 was retired in 1918 without having received a ČSD number; the 123.02 got the ČSD number 232.301 and was retired in 1924.
