The steam locomotive series kkStB 102 were passenger train - locomotives of the Imperial Austrian State Railways (kkStB), originally from the Austrian NordWestBahn came (ÖNWB).

history

When, at the end of the 1880s, the heavier express trains required more powerful locomotives, the Floridsdorf locomotive factory delivered six express train locomotives of the type 2B in 1891 , which the ÖNWB designated class  XIIa . In 1892 there followed a delivery of five pieces for the SNDVB , which were classified as series  XIIb . In 1895 six machines followed as series  XIIc for the supplementary network and in 1896 seven units, two for the ÖNWB and five for the SNDVB.

The locomotives in this series were similar to the 17c series of the Südbahn , but had larger boilers and a smaller wheelbase. A higher boiler layer compared to series  Ia – c allowed the installation of a supported fire box.

The use of these rows shortened the travel time between Vienna and Tetschen by almost half an hour. Later, the machines of this series passenger trains Vienna- led Znojmo , Prague - Nymburk and wholesale Wossek -Tetschen.

After nationalization, the locomotives were given the series designation 102 at the kkStB  , and they were also used on the Vienna Stadtbahn at times .

After the First World War , all of the machines came to the ČSD , which only classified 13 units as series  254.1 and retired by 1933.
