İğde was a municipality in the Elbistan district of the Turkish province of Kahramanmaraş . Since the provincial capital Kahramanmaraş was declared Büyükşehir belediyesi (big city commune) in 2013 as part of a regional reform , the small town has been a Mahalle of Elbistan. The place is about ten kilometers southwest of the district town on the southwest slope of the 2171 meter high Sar Dağ mountain .
