İhsan Turnagöl

İhsan Turnagöl (born January 24, 1957 in Ankara ) is a Turkish classical guitarist .

He studied guitar at the Karlsruhe University of Music with Mario Sicca and at the Music Academy of the City of Basel with Konrad Ragossnig .

After completing his studies, he began a lively concert activity that took him to many European countries and the Far East. In addition to several radio productions, he presented his first record in August 1981 with works by Johann Sebastian Bach , Domenico Scarlatti and Isaac Albéniz .

İhsan Turnagöl prefers contemporary music, and his talent for interpreting it inspired several composers to write for the guitar. Intensive collaboration with the composer Hermann Reutter resulted in some original compositions as well as an important series of transcriptions of Reutter works for guitar solo, which were published by Schott-Verlag, some of which were also on record and CD by Wergo.

After and in addition to his teaching activities at the State University of Music in Karlsruhe , Hanover and Freiburg im Breisgau , İhsan Turnagöl was a lecturer in guitar at the State University of Music and Performing Arts in Stuttgart from 1981 to 2005 . In 2006 he returned to Turkey; he runs a guitar school in Istanbul.
