Ľudovít Štrompach
Ľudovít Štrompach (born June 23, 1923 in Budapest , † March 5, 2009 in Bratislava ) was a Slovak painter and restorer of paintings and sculptures .
Life
Origin and family
Štrompach grew up in Budapest , Bojnice and Nováky . His family was in the service of Count Pálffy for several generations . In 1946 he moved with his wife Magdaléna Štrompachová from Budapest to Prague and in the 1950s to Slovakia .
Education
From 1942 to 1946 Štrompach studied at the Országos Magyar Királyi Képzőművészeti Főiskola (Royal Hungarian Academy of Fine Arts) in Budapest with Gyula Rudnay and in 1947 in Prague at VSVU with Ján Želibský .
Create and work
Štrompach's work deals in particular with people and depictions from the cities of Prague , Budapest in Hungary , Vienna in Austria , Munich and Garmisch-Partenkirchen in Germany , where many pictures and graphics were created. The pictures Snowy Prague or Charles Bridge as well as a large number of family portraits, most of which are in Bratislava today, date from his Prague period . In addition to his own work, he devoted himself to restoration. In 1956 he founded a gallery at Bojnice Castle , which he put together himself. With his wife Magdaléna Štrompachová, he founded the first performing arts school in Prievidza , Slovakia on March 15, 1963.
