Şener Özcan (born March 3, 1985 in Mengen ) is a Turkish football player .

Career

society

Özcan started with club football in Ankara in the youth of Tigemspor and in 2000 he moved to the youth teams of the traditional club Gençlerbirliği Ankara . Here he received a professional contract in the summer of 2003, but continued to play almost exclusively for the youth team. From the 2004/05 season he played on loan for three seasons for the second team Gençlerbirliği Ankaras, for Gençlerbirliği ASAŞ . Here someone sat on the bench for one season. At the end of the season, his loan contract was extended. In the second season with Gençlerbirliği ASAŞ he reached the championship of the TFF 2nd Lig with his team and rose to the TFF 1st Lig . In the following season he rose with his team as champions of the TFF 1st Lig even in the Süper Lig .

He spent the second half of the 2007/08 season on loan at Bozüyükspor , and the 2008/09 season at Kastamonuspor . From summer 2009 to spring 2011 he played again as a loan player at Hacettepe SK .

For the second half of the 2011/12 season he moved to third division side Adana Demirspor . With this team he celebrated the championship of the TFF 2nd Lig at the end of the season and thus the direct promotion to the second-class TFF 1st Lig .

In the summer of 2014, Özcan left Demirspor and moved to third division club Yeni Malatyaspor together with his teammate Onur Tuncer .

National team

Özcan played from the Turkish U-15 to the U-20 in all Turkish youth national teams. With the Turkish U-16 he took part in the U-16 European Football Championship in 2001 and was eliminated with his team in the group stage. In 2004 he took part with the Turkish U-19s at the U-19 European Football Championship 2004 and reached the Vice European Championship.
