Šikara ( Cyrillic  Шикара ) is a place in the canton of Tuzla in the northeast of the southeastern European state of Bosnia and Herzegovina . Šikara belongs to the municipality of Tuzla .

geography

Šikara is located in the hills about 5 km northwest of the city center of Tuzla, on the M112 road between Rapače southeast and Lipnica northeast. To the east is Donja Lipnica , directly to the west of Ljepunice .

The place belongs to the Mjesna zajednica (local association) Lipnica and in it to the Naseljeno mjesto (locality) Lipnica.

The place has about 35 inhabitants in 15 houses. This area around Tuzla is predominantly mostly Croatian .

History and infrastructure

Šikara means " thicket " in the national languages .

In the Middle Ages the area was in Soli , the "predecessor" of today's Tuzla.

The construction of the Catholic Church in Šikara began in 1971 based on a project by D. Antolković. She was dedicated to St. Dedicated to Francis of Assisi . The church was initially subordinate to the parish of Tuzla, and was elevated to a parish in 1986. and belongs to the Franciscan Province of Bosna Srebrena and to the deanery of Tuzla . The priest's house was completed in 1987-1989. In 1991 the parish had 4,200 believers, today there are 2,300 believers in 925 families. The following localities belong to the parish of Šikara: Šikara, Brgule, Delići, Hudeč, Jasici, Kolona Lipnica, Ljepunice , Matići, Mramor, Pogorioci, Rapače, and Srednja Lipnica. The priest of the Šikara parish is Marko Lovrić.
