The Žirovnice is the left headwaters of the Nežárka in the Czech Republic .

It rises at an altitude of 658 m to the northeast of the village of Pelec near Častrov in the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands .

The towns of Častrov and Žirovnice lie on its course in a southerly direction , where it turns to the southwest. About Vlčetín, Bednáreček , Kamenný Malíkov , Hostějeves, Pejdlova Rosička and Bednárec the Žirovnice flows to Jarošov nad Nežárkou , where it is 29.9 km at 471 m above sea level. M. united with the Kamenice to form Nežárka.
