Ștefan Nicolae Bărboianu (born January 24, 1988 in Craiova ) is a Romanian football player . The full-back has been under contract with CS Concordia Chiajna since summer 2015 .

Career

Bărboianu's career began at Gheorghe Popescu's football school in his hometown of Craiova . In early 2006, he moved at the age of 18 years at the leading club in the city, FC Universitatea Craiova , the Romanian at that time in the second division, the Divizia B played. There he came only to one use in the first season and thus had a small share in the rise of the club. In League 1 he made his debut on October 21, 2006 in an away win against FC Național Bucharest . Only in the 2007/08 season was it increasingly used. He placed himself with his club initially in the midfield of the league, the club got into the relegation battle in the 2009/10 season , where Bărboianu came on 29 missions and had now established himself as a regular.

In the winter break of 2010/11 , Bărboianu left the club, which was in danger of relegation, and moved to league rivals Dinamo Bucharest . There he reached the cup final , but lost to local rivals Steaua Bucharest through an own goal caused by himself. After nine missions and qualifying for the Europa League , he joined Astra Ploieşti six months later . There he and his club again qualified for the European Cup in the 2012/13 season . However, after only three appearances in the first half of the 2013/14 season , he returned to Dinamo Bucharest in early 2014. In the summer of 2015 he joined CS Concordia Chiajna .
