Ștefan Dănilă

Ștefan Dănilă (born May 14, 1965 ) is a Romanian general and was the commander of the Romanian army from 2011 to 2014 .

Life

Ștefan Dănilă was born in Târgu Neamț in the district of the same name in the West Moldau region.

The general is married and has one child. In addition to his mother tongue, he also speaks English.

Military career

After various tasks in the air force , Dănilă was transferred to the post of Deputy Chief of the Romanian General Staff in October 2010. On January 1, 2011 he was appointed its chief and thus military commander of the Romanian armed forces. On July 20, 2011, he was promoted to lieutenant general. On December 31, 2014, he was removed as Chief of the General Staff, now with the rank of General. He was succeeded by Nicolae Ciucă .
