Ștefan Stănculescu (born September 16, 1923 , † September or October 2013 ) was a Romanian football player and coach .

Athletic career

Stănculescu played for Sportul Studențesc in Divizia A between 1937 and 1946 . In 1939 and 1943 he was with the club in the final of the Cupa României , the final games were lost to Rapid Bucharest and CFR Turnu Severin respectively. After a short stay with Șurianul Sebeş , he played from 1947 to 1948 with Unirea Tricolor Bucharest and then until his retirement in 1953 with the first division relegated Metalul Bucharest .

After his active career, Stănculescu became a coach. His first post was at IMS Câmpulung Muscel , which was associated with the car manufacturer ARO . He then worked for a long time as a youth coach for Dinamo Piteşti .

1974 Stănculescu moved abroad, where he took over the Iranian club FC Aboumoslem . Then he inherited as national coach Zaires the Yugoslav coach Blagoja Vidinić , who had looked after the national team at the 1974 World Cup . In 1977 he returned to the youth work of Dinamo Piteşti, from 1978 to 1983 he worked for Palatul Pionierilor .
