(144096) Wiesendangen is a main belt asteroid measuring about one kilometer , which was discovered on January 23, 2004 by Markus Griesser , the longtime director of the Winterthur Eschenberg observatory.
At the beginning of April 2007, with the official approval of the International Astronomical Union (IAU) , the asteroid was named after the village of Wiesendangen near Winterthur, where the discoverer of the asteroid has lived with his family for more than 30 years.
