(1467) Mashona is an asteroid of the main belt , which on the thirtieth July 1938 by the South African astronomer Cyril V. Jackson in Johannesburg was discovered.

The name of the asteroid is derived from the Shona population living in Zimbabwe (then Rhodesia ) .
