(1493) Sigrid is an asteroid of the main belt discovered on August 26, 1938 by the Belgian astronomer Eugène Joseph Delporte in Ukkel .
The asteroid is named after the wife of the Danish-American astronomer Bengt Georg Daniel Strömgren .
