(1586) Thiele is an asteroid of the main belt that was discovered on February 13, 1939 by the German astronomer Arthur Arno Wachmann in Bergedorf .
The asteroid is named after the Danish mathematician and astronomer Thorvald Nicolai Thiele , the father of Holger Thiele , a colleague of the discoverer at the Bergedorf observatory.
