(1650) Heckmann is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 11 October 1937 by the German astronomer Karl Wilhelm Reinmuth at Heidelberg State Observatory King chair of the University of Heidelberg was discovered.

The asteroid is named after the German astronomer Otto Heckmann .
