(1741) Giclas is a main belt asteroid . He was on 26 January 1960 at Goethe Link Observatory at Brooklyn (Indiana) within the Indiana Asteroid Program of the Indiana University discovered.

He was named in honor of Henry Lee Giclas , an American astronomer and professor.
