(1747) Wright is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 14 July 1947 by the American astronomer Carl A. Wirtanen at Lick Observatory was discovered.
The asteroid was named after William Hammond Wright , an astrophysicist who worked for many years at the Lick Observatory.
