(19139) Apian is an asteroid of the main belt , which was discovered on April 6, 1989 by Freimut Börngen at the observatory of the Thuringian State Observatory Tautenburg .

Apian is named after the German Renaissance scholar Peter Apian . The name is considered an official international standard and is registered with the International Astronomical Union (IAU).
